Polyurethane (PU), the full name of polyurethane, is a polymer compound. Appeared in the 1930s, it was developed by German scientists. After nearly 80 years of development, it has been widely used in the field of construction, home furnishing, and daily necessities.
Polyurethane products mainly include the following: foamed plastics, elastomers, fiber plastics, fibers, leather shoe resins, coatings, adhesives and sealants, among which foamed plastics account for the largest proportion.
Classification of polyurethane foam
Polyurethane foam is mainly divided into two types: rigid foam and soft foam.
Soft foam: Among them, flexible polyurethane foam is the most widely used polyurethane product. Generally, it has the properties of low density, good elastic recovery, sound absorption, ventilation, and heat preservation. It is mainly used as a cushion for rooms, vehicles and clothing.
Rigid foam: We commonly use polyurethane sandwich panels in construction projects, and the core material is rigid polyurethane foam, which has the characteristics of light weight, good thermal insulation effect and good durability.
The lower density rigid foam polyurethane is mainly used as a thermal insulation (insulation) material, and the higher density rigid foam polyurethane can be used as a structural material (imitation wood). The thermal conductivity of rigid foamed polyurethane is lower than that of polystyrene, other foamed plastics and natural thermal insulation materials, and its thermal insulation performance is good. In the field of thermal insulation, polyurethane foam is the material of choice and has a wide range of applications.
WISKIND cold storage board
WISKIND cold storage insulation board, jointly built with BASF. It is made of BASF's new pentane-foamed B1 Elastopir® system, Elastopir® polyurethane insulation material, which has excellent thermal insulation properties. The cold storage built with this insulation board can save up to 95% of energy and can also store food. Waste is minimized.
At the same time, it has an ultra-high temperature stability and fire rating to meet the latest fire safety critical regulations for B1 foam cores in China.

Excellent polyurethane foaming process
BASF's patented boom technology During the foaming process, the polyurethane flows out of the mixer in a uniform laminar flow. The boom ensures a uniform distribution of the liquid reaction mixture, resulting in an extremely flat foam surface.
And the temperature of polyurethane foaming is strictly controlled, and the foaming time, temperature and speed can be adjusted according to the sandwich panels of different thicknesses.
Epilogue
This cold storage insulation board jointly created by
WISKIND and BASF is most commonly used in roofing and wall building materials for industrial buildings. It helps cold rooms maintain optimal fresh-keeping temperatures, providing optimal storage conditions for the entire food value chain, from farm to retailer.
